New California Minimum Wage

Governor Brown signed a bill today that will raise the California minimum wage from $8 to $9 per hour on July 1, 2014 and to $10 on January 1, 2016. This affects all California employees, regardless of who they work for, including, in many situations, interns. Keep in mind, however, that some cities set their own minimum wage such as San Francisco, where it is currently $10.55 per hour, or San Jose, where it is $10 per hour.
